Our main goal at Mustard Seed Academy is to provide a safe and nurturing learning experience for our students. We want our students to develop a love for learning and the vital knowledge and skills for a successful future.
Mustard Seed Academy’s in house curriculum is based on thematic units that promote high quality learning through engaging topics. It is sequenced to provide a clear framework of progression in skills and knowledge to equip children for the next stage of their education. Some benefits of a Thematic Curriculum include an increase in children's interest, helps the children to make connections with their work, keeps children engaged, and draws on connections from the real world and life experiences.

Movement
Children learn best through play and hands-on activities and projects. Our teachers prepare lessons that promote exploration, discovery and creative expression. Our students are immersed in the Spanish language and culture through play, music, dance, games, visuals and conversations with their teachers and classmates. Read Alouds, Phonics, and Reader’s Theater are fun ways for our students to learn and enjoy to read.
Teachers keep track of student progress by assessing them at the beginning and end of the year. We believe that when teachers and parents work together, the impact on student progress is significant. We send a monthly newsletter, which includes the theme, songs and vocabulary words that we are learning so that the language, concepts and skills may be reinforced at home. We also send daily videos of the students during circle time, outside play, lunchtime or naptime via ClassDojo.
