My child doesn’t know any Spanish.  How will he/she communicate with his teacher?

Most of our teachers and staff speak both English and Spanish and will be able to communicate with your child in English, if necessary.  However, children pick up the language surprisingly fast through songs, hand gestures and repetition.  Our students are also very excited and eager to help out their new friends as they adapt.

What is the student-teacher ratio?

Student to teacher ratios are based upon guidelines set by State law.  The following chart shows the maximum ratios that we observe.

Note: An assistant is assigned to each class for 14 months to 3 year olds.  A floater is assigned to each class for 4 and 5 year olds.

Monthly tuition fees are due on the 1st of each month.  Tuition due dates falling on holidays will be due on the next business day.

Is there a uniform?

MSA follows a dress code color scheme: students are allowed to wear navy blue, light blue, white, gray and khaki.  Your child’s clothes should be comfortable and they should be able to remove clothes independently, as needed for bathroom breaks.  Students are required to wear closed toe shoes with a rubber sole or sneakers only.

Is lunch included in the tuition?

MSA provides cold breakfast and a healthy morning and afternoon snack for all students.  Students are required to bring a lunchbox to school everyday.

Mustard Seed Academy’s in house curriculum is based on thematic units that promote high quality learning through engaging topics. It is sequenced to provide a clear framework of progression in skills and knowledge to equip children for the next stage of their education. Some benefits of a Thematic Curriculum include an increase in children's interest, helps the children to make connections with their work, keeps children engaged, and draws on connections from the real world and life experiences.

What is MSA’s immunization policy?

All children enrolled in must have their immunization records up-to-date or provide an exemption affidavit prior to the child’s start date.  The parent must provide the child’s immunization record and all information must be current.   The parent shall also provide proof of this with a form signed by a health care provider. This form will state that the child has received all current, age-appropriate immunizations.  Parents wishing to take a religious exemption must contact the office to find out the proper procedure for providing an affidavit of such a religious opposition.
